Condolences for Naomi Mae Downing

My dear hustle bustle brisk Aunt Naomi leaves me with many family memories! How we loved to tease in order to experience the wrath of her flashing eyes and sharp tongue. I'm so glad for all the fun years we had with the entire Downing family. God bless you all as you miss this very special person, my own Aunt Naomi! Love, Betts

Naomi Downing was one of the best employees I ever worked with at Lincoln Library. Her work ethic was outstanding, and she led the Interlibrary Loan Department with great efficiency and dedication.

Karen, Karl & Family, Please accept my personal condolences on the loss of Naomi, as well as the deepest sympathies of the congregation at Knox Presbyterian. I know the church was a very special part of Naomi's life, and she was a very special part of our church family's life as well. She was loved by many, and will be greatly missed. While she has completed the earthly part of her life journey, her life is not over - she will live on in each of the hearts of those who loved her, and all who were touched by her faith and her love of education and reading. We will continue to keep all of you in our prayers, and trust that God's Amazing Grace will keep you today, as you give Naomi back to God, and in all the days to come. With much love, Kathy A. Swaar, CRE, and the congregation of Knox Pres.

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. Karen, I just made contact with you at the beginning of the month to acknowledge our relationship as cousins. Please continue to stay in touch. God bless

I only met Karen's mom twice, but feel like I knew of her Christian spirit through my best friend, Karen. Thanks for sharing your mother's life and attributes with me through so many nights at dinner and at the pool. With much love to your family, Carol

When I became a teacher at Staley School in 1951, Karl Downing was a student in my class. His parents were very interested in education, and especially Karl's education. I came to know Karl's parents well. A teacher always remembers parents who are supportive of education and the teacher. Thanks for my pleasing memory of Naomi & Kenneth Downing.
