Condolences for Mary C. Owens

To know Mary was to love her. Mary was like a magnet that drew people to her. She was a very strong and independent woman. She was also sharp as a tack and tough as nails. Mary always laughed when I told her she was my role model and my idol. Although she had some health problems, she never complained. She treated the problems like they were just bumps in the road. Mary and I liked to surprise each other with something we cooked or baked, and of course we were able to discuss and solve all the world's problems. My Christmas card to you, Mary, was returned to me the same day I found out that you had passed away. I'm sorry about that, because I know all the cardinal birds on the card and envelope would have made you happy. I feel blessed to have had you as a neighbor and I certainly miss you, my little buddy. Grandma, I miss you more than words can ever say. We shared so many wonderful memories over the last 48 years. I am so proud and thankful that I had you in my life for as long as I did. You were more than a grandma to me. I am so happy that you are able to have your wish and be reunited with dad and grandpa again. I love you to the moon and back and hope to see you again someday in heaven.

Caring thoughts and sincere sympathy. I met Mary at LMCV in the dining room, where she would dine with my mom, Vitt Wilson. Mary and I talked about her many joys and life's journey. Wishing the family: a song in your hearts; a rainbow after the rain; peace; hope; cherished memories. Mary von Liski
