You will truly be missed. I met you in the 80's and worked right outside your office. You were a kind and thoughtful person. Bless you.

Roberta was a remarkable woman and an extraordinary mentor. I met Roberta in 1981, in the middle of the ERA debate in IL, when I began at Public Aid. Roberta didn't need the ERA. She was the epitome of a professional, intelligent, hard working woman. Roberta was confident in every aspect of her job and could be counted on for accurate information. She encouraged me to participate in Business and Professional Women which was a wonderful experience. I considered Roberta an ally and friend. We need more committed employees like her. I'm a better person from having known her. My deep felt condolences to her family.

I met Roberta when I came Public Aid in 1991 and worked with her closely for a few short years before she retired. I believe she is largely responsible for any success I had on the job in those early years. She was a mentor and a friend, a woman of integrity and unswerving commitment to the people we served together. I owe her much and consider myself fortunate to have known her and to have had the opportunity to learn from her when I was so new to Medicaid and so naive about its challenges. My heart is with her family, whom I know she loved dearly.

For many years, while with the State, I had the good fortune to work with Roberta. She was always an outstanding employee who approached her job with great skill, energy, and professionalism. She had great strength of character and was highly respected by her fellow workers and medical professionals of all types around the State. She was a classy lady and someone I proudly called my friend. Those of us who knew her, and were fortunate enough to have walked a ways with along the paths of life, were lucky, indeed. Our sincere condolences to the family. Patrick & Joann Kain
