MARION – Wilma E. Grieme, 87, of Marion, IL, formerly of Tampa, FL, and Springfield, IL, died at St. Louis University Hospital at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, May 25, 2009.
She was born on February 9, 1922, in Virden, IL, to Louis and Elizabeth Dailey Langheim. She was married to Dale Grieme on May 1, 1948, he preceded her in death on December 16, 2007. She is also preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Rita and Margaret Langheim, Lucille Fruge, Mary Knox, and Betty Hovey; and one brother, Louis Langheim.
Wilma is survived by her son, Jim (wife, Judi) Grieme of Marion, IL; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a past member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and currently attended St. Joseph’s Church in Marion. She was also a member of the State Employees Retirement System. She retired from the State of Illinois Department of Agriculture as a statistician clerk.
Visitation will be held at Staab Funeral Home on Thursday, May 28, 2009, from 5-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Staab Funeral Home on Friday, May 29, 2009, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Christopher House officiating. Interment will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
