Cheryl L. Williams, 70, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at Heritage Health. She was born November 24, 1950, in Chicago, the daughter of Lewis and Delores A. Ray Howlett. She married Richard L. Williams September 14, 1969 and he preceded her in death February 4, 2008.
Cheryl is also preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, James Chapin.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Chapin and Jennifer (Steven) Flynn, both of Springfield; five grandchildren, Elizabeth M. (Cody) Jackson, Daniel J. Chapin and Taylor, Justin and Joey Williams; three great-grandchildren, Camden, Cameron and Jade; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cheryl lived in Springfield for most of her life. She worked as a school bus monitor and driver for First Student, retiring after many years of service. Some of Cheryl’s greatest joys were bowling, fishing and camping.
Graveside Service: 2 pm, Friday, July 9, 2021 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Cindy Lash officiating.
