William "Ted" Marshall

William “Ted” Marshall, 78, of Williamsville, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Ted was born March 3, 1939 in Decatur, Illinois to William “Bill” and Clementine McDaniel Marshall. He married Lindy Wood on August 7, 1965 in Denver, Colorado, and they had one daughter, Gina (Scott) Larkin of Williamsville, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ted received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana and was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. He started his career with the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) in Ft. Wayne, Indiana prior to entering the United States Navy as a Yeoman 2nd class in Norfolk, Virginia in 1961. After the Navy, he worked for the ICC in Denver, Colorado where he met his wife Lindy. They moved back to Illinois in 1967 and Ted operated W.T. Marshall Trucking Company with his father. He spent most of his career in the insurance industry and retired from the State of Illinois Department of the Lottery. Ted was an avid football fan, enjoying the successes of his beloved Denver Broncos. The Williamsville Bullets football team held a special place in his heart, and he utilized his computer skills and knowledge of football to compile 46 years of statistics on behalf of the Bullets football program.

He will be missed by his wife, Lindy; daughter, Gina (Scott) Larkin; granddaughter, Claire; grandson, Will; his niece, Michelle Steele of Battle Ground, WA and his four-legged granddaughter, Lola.

Memorial Gathering: 5-7 pm, Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman, 2626 E. Andrew Road, Sherman, IL. Military honors will be conducted at 7 pm.
