RIVERTON – William R. Bob Robb, 82, of Riverton died at 9:27 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 8, 1925, in Riverton, the son of Margaret Jones. He married Ann Fiorucci Claypool on Nov. 15, 1952.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Jones Doty.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Robb of Riverton, three daughters, Donna (Mike) Holinga of Dawson, Brenda Kelley of Riverton and Janet L. Robb of Washington, D.C.; two sons, Bob (Deanna) Claypool of Hamilton, Ohio, and Dave (Alicia) Claypool of Des Moines, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, Trae (Heather) Claypool, Kathy (Jay) Walters, Erin Claypool, Adam (Megan) Claypool, Sarah (Adam) Friedland, Beth Claypool, Christy (Travis) Kindel, Tami (John) Marchioro, Ben Holinga, Sarah (Duane) Zaricor; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was a lifelong resident of Riverton and worked as meat cutter with Eisner/Jewel for 35 years.

Bob served in the Navy during World War II. He was involved in many community activities including the Riverton Volunteer Fire Department (fire chief), school board, village board, village library, food pantry and zoning committee. After retirement, Bob was a bus driver for many school events. He loved going to the gambling boat, playing poker, people watching from his front porch and mowing his yard. His greatest joy was having his grandchildren around him.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the U.S. Navy will conduct military honors.

Memorials may be made to the Riverton Fire Protection District or Riverton Village Library.
