RIVERTON – William J. Siebert, 80, of Riverton, IL passed on to be with the Lord on May 2, 2010, at 10:35 p.m. with his family at his side.
He was born Dec. 6, 1929, in Springfield, IL, the son of Henry and Irma Siebert. He married Wilma D. Metzger on Oct. 29, 1955. She preceded him in death on Jan. 19, 2001. His parents and 2 sisters preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, Phillip (Karen) Siebert, Lori (Chuck) Landgrebe, Denise Boo (Mike) Miller and Michael (Stacey) Siebert; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He served his country in the United States Navy. Member of St. James Church in Riverton, Knights of Columbus in Riverton and a past member of DAV.
Mr. Siebert was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 35 years of service.
His family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at St. James Church in Riverton and from 9:00-9:45 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010, at St. James Church in Riverton, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m., with Reverend Joseph Ring officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, where Sangamon County Interveterans will conduct military honors.
