SPRINGFIELD – William F. Bill Heibner, 91, of Springfield, died at 4:15 a.m. on Friday, October 1, 2010 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. He was born August 9, 1919 in Warsaw, Missouri to Ernest G. and Ida B. Brown Heibner. He married Polly Ann Heibner on February 6, 1948 and she preceded him in death in April 1997. He married Lennie Dull in February of 1998. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Polly Ann Heibner and 1 daughter: Kay Rowland Faucet.
He is survived by his wife: Lennie Heibner; 1 daughter: Rhonda (Michael) Morgan of Springfield; 2 sons: William M. Heibner of Springfield and Russell Ted (Patricia) Heibner of Herrin, IL; 2 step-daughters: Beverly Hays of Springfield and Charlotte Dull Dennison of Elkhart, IL; 7 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren.
William was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church for 53 years and served on the board. He was an avid fisherman. William retired after 30+ years as a plant manager for Skelgas Oil Company.
Visitation: Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail will conduct military honors at 10:45 a.m., Monday, October 4, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home with visitation to follow from 11-1p.m. at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 1 p.m., Monday, October 4, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home. Reverend Greg Tucker and Reverend Mathew Hays will be officiating. Burial to follow at Old Salem Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
