William D. Ippolito

William D. Ippolito, 85, of Riverton died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, November 6, 2010 at St. John’s Hospice. He was born on January 10, 1925 in Riverton, Illinois to Pasquale and Elizabeth A. Marx Ippolito.

He is survived by his wife, Doris of Riverton; one son, William G. (Peggy) Ippolito; two brothers, Vito C. (Wilma) Ippolito and Thomas C. Ippolito; niece, Patricia (Edwin) Taft; Great Nephews, Ross and Benjamin Taft; two Step Grandsons; Andrew Greco and Michael (Diana) Greco and three Step Great-Grandsons; Nick, Sammy and Michael Greco.

William served in the Army fighting in World War II from 1943-1946 with the 285th Field Artillery Observation BN at St. Vith, Belgium (Battle of the Bulge). He retired from Fiat Allis as an electrician.

Visitation: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 12 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Joseph Ring officiating. Interment will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
