William M. "Bill" Thomas

William “Bill” M. Thomas, 75, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Springfield, IL on February 7, 1942 to Milton A. and Goldie Losey Thomas and they preceded him in death. He married Regina “Sue” Miller on July 8, 1961.

Survivors include his wife, Regina Sue; one son, Joseph A. (Stacy) Thomas of Panama City Beach, FL; daughter, Terri L. Thomas, of Springfield; four grandchildren, Jason Dunn, Ryan Thomas, Stephen and Caitlyn Benedik and one great-grandson Landon Dunn; two sisters: Jeanne (Dominic) Rosa of Rochester and Sharon Smithers of Springfield; double cousins, Harold “Harry” (Julie) Losey of Princeville, IL and Donna Bricker of Springfield, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bill was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He was a carpenter and locksmith for the Illinois Secretary of State retiring after 15 years of service. Bill attended Cherry Hills Baptist Church, was a member of Elk’s Lodge #158 and Carpenter’s Local #16 since 1959.

Memorial Service: 11:30 am, Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with Pastor Brian Wilmarth officiating.
