William “Bill” Diczban, 65, of Springfield, died at 3:05 am Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at St. John’s Hospice. He was born on October 2, 1947 in Springfield, IL to Edward and Daisy Bentley Diczban, Sr. He married Tracey Shellhammer on December 9, 1994.
Bill was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #32, Masonic Springfield Lodge #4, Ansar Shrine, Legion of Honor and Cookie Unit, Scottish Rite Consistory and Riverton Eagles Aerie #4361. He was an electrician and retired in 2009 from the EPA.
Survivors include his wife, Tracey; mother, Daisy Diczban of Springfield; mother-in-law, Dawn Shellhammer of Springfield; one sister, Linda (Donald) Pease of Riverton; two brothers, Edward (Dana) Diczban, Jr. of Pleasant Plains and Steven Diczban of Springfield; seven nieces, Catherine Diczban, Leigh Anne (fiancé Chad May) Diczban, Stephanie Rocke, Amanda (Eric) Eaton, Mollie Pease, and Mallory and Abby Shellhammer; one great niece, Adrianna; two great nephews, Luc and Landon, several cousins and his cherished pets, Quatro, Lily, Chetty and Max.
His father preceded him in death.
