SPRINGFIELD – William B. Kashock, 85, of Springfield died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at St. John’s Hospice.
He was born July 29, 1923, in Lincoln, the son of Frank and Anna Valek Kashock.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank; and four sisters, Frances, Rose, Evelyn and Lillian
He is survived by a brother, Louis (wife, Goldie) Kashock of Lincoln; several nieces and nephews, including Joyce Goodman of Higginsville, Mo.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
William was a resident of Springfield for most of his life. He was a custodian for Springfield School District 186.
He attended St. Agnes Church in Springfield and St. Mary’s Church in Lincoln. He loved fishing and gardening, especially his roses. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in World War II.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where the Army will conduct military honors.
