Walter F. Jabusch, Jr., 81, of Riverton died at 9:32 am, Sunday, May 29, 2011 at home. He was born October 18, 1929 in Chicago, IL to Walter F. and Margaret Susan Fyn Jabusch, Sr. He married M. Jane Wolf on June 1, 1957.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margaret Ann Jeffords. He is survived by his wife, M. Jane; four children, John Walter (Diann) Jabusch of Johnsburg, IL, Janna Lynn (Tom) Evanich of Springfield, Jerry Joseph Jabusch of Riverton, Jo Ellyn (Scott) Matthews of Roundlake Heights, IL; six grandchildren, Rachael (Alex) Lorch, Kiersten and Daniel Jabusch, David and Christopher Evanich and Jacob Matthews; one great-grandchild, Cadence Olivia Lorch; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Walter was a graduate of Springfield High School. He served in the US Army. He was a member of St. James Church in Riverton, Sherman Athletic Club and Fiat Allis Retirees. He was a resident of the Springfield area all his life. Walter retired from Fiat Allis as a Laborer and Union Steward.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 pm. Lie in State 9:30-10:30 am, Friday, June 3, 2011 at St. James Church in Riverton.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 am, Friday, June 3, 2011 at St. James Church in Riverton with Reverend Joseph Ring officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Aloysius Boy Scout Pack 53 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
