Virginia Louise Craven, 85, of Springfield, died at 7:50 am, Friday, June 19, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born February 14, 1930 in Spring Valley, IL, to Louis and Pearl (Manahan) Muzzarelli. She married Robert Edward Craven in 1952 and he preceded her in death on November 17, 2010. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one sister.
Survivors include six sons, Jim (Sally) Craven and Tom (Denise) Craven both of Springfield; Mike (Becky) Craven of Normal, Bill (Brenda) Craven of Springfield, Pat (Jodi) Craven of Princeton, IN and Tim (Cris) Craven of New Berlin; seventeen grandchildren; one great grandchild and one niece Carol Ann (Rick) Barley of Richmond, TX.
Louise was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Chatham. She loved to travel and was devoted to her family. She retired from Memorial Medical Center where she worked as a nurse.
Visitation: 5-7 pm, Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Staab Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 5 pm. There will be a second visitation from 9-10 am Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at St. Joseph the Worker Church.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 am Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Chatham with Fr. John Nolan officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
