Vicky C. Curran, 59, of Springfield, died at 9:30 pm, Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born May 21, 1952, in Mexico City, Mexico, to Manuel Cantoral Ramirez and Sara Garcia Coronel. Her father preceded her in death. She married Thomas Curran on June 4, 1976, and he survives. Also surviving are her mother; two sons Adam B. Curran and Carlos C. Curran both of Springfield; one grandson Quincy Curran; eleven brothers and sisters, Eduardo, Lidia, Carlos, Margarita, Laura, Ana, Alejandra, Clara, Manuel, Mónica and Sara all of Mexico City, Mexico. Vicky was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish at Sacred Heart Church and sang in the church choir. Vicky was active in the church discussion group “Por qué ser Católicos?” through St. Katherine Drexel Parish and attended the GIFT (Growing In Faith Together) retreat through Little Flower Church on multiple occasions.
Visitation: 5-7 pm, Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Paul Habing officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
