Veronica Rose Rychel, 62, of Dawson died at 10:56 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2009, at St. John’s Hospital.
She was born July 5, 1946, in Springfield, the daughter of Stephen J. and Dora Rose Dyer Rapinac. She married John Lehman Rychel in 1965; he preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by two daughters, Kim Saunders of Dawson and Pamela (Brad) Brown of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren, Crystal Farley, Brittney Williams, Chance Williams and Lexus Brown; a great-granddaughter, Breanna; a sister, Sandra (Melvin) Porter of Petersburg; a brother, Steven Rapinac of Dawson; an aunt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Veronica was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the Springfield area.
She was of the Catholic faith. She was a member of Springfield Motor Boat Club. She enjoyed spending time at the lake and also enjoyed arranging artificial flowers and spending time with her grandkids.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home, with the
Rev. Christopher A. House officiating. A private Burial will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
