Verna J. Cutler, 77, of Springfield, died at 7:45 am, Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born June 29, 1935 in Springfield, to Roy and Clara Boesdorfer Schumacher. She married Donald Cutler on November 13, 1954 and he preceded her in death on June 9, 2006.
Her parents, sister-in-law, Nancy Schumacher and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Dorothy Cutler also preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter Lorie J. (Matt) Brown of Springfield; one son, Mike (Suzie) Cutler of Dawson; three grandchildren, Malinda Gray, Kelsey Cutler and Katie Cutler; one great grandson, Chayse Ryan; one sister, Arlene (Jake) Lyons of Springfield; two brothers, Albert (Susann) Schumacher of Vandalia and Roger Schumacher of Springfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins and her dog, Mollie.
She was of the Catholic faith. She was a founding member of the Route “66” Cruisers and was an avid car enthusiasts and enjoyed car shows and cruises. She worked for JC Penny for over seventeen years in sales and merchandising.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with Albert Schumacher officiating.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
