WILLIAMSVILLE – Velma L. Hutches, 77, of Williamsville died at 4:05 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at Villa Healthcare Center East in Sherman.
She was born April 13, 1932, in Springfield, the daughter of Frederick and Mary Tucker Ruh.
She married Frank Walser; he preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1982. She later married Clarence Tex Hutches on Feb. 14, 1993; he preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1999.
She was also preceded in death her parents; two sisters; and one brother.
She is survived by a son, Denis W. (Anne) Walser of Williamsville; three grandchildren, Angela (Jason) Gillespie, Katie (Eric Jerome) Walser and Cyndi (fiance, Pat Phillip) Walser; two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Jacob Gillespie; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Velma lived in the Springfield area for the past 10 years. She owned and operated Angels and Fur Dog Groomers.
Velma was a member of Elliot Avenue Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed traveling, spending time in Texas, fishing and mushroom hunting.
Memorials may be made to Elliot Avenue Baptist Church or St. John’s Adult Day Care.
