Velma E. “Pat” Crouch
SPRINGFIELD – Velma E. “Pat” Crouch, 93, of Springfield, died Monday, August 27, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born August 23, 1914 in Palmyra, IL, the daughter of Roy and Mabel Johnson Turner. She married Walter G. Crouch on September 12, 1931; he preceded her in death on January 14, 1985. Her parents; one brother; one sister; and one grandson, James Edward Fleck II, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Crouch worked on the assembly line at Sangamo Electric for 19 years and co-owned Walt & Pat’s Tavern. An avid bowler, she belonged to a league at Spillway Lanes and also was an avid dancer at VFW events.
Survivors: two daughters, Carole (husband, Carl) Doak of Chandler, AZ and Doris (husband, Jim) Fleck of Springfield; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
