Travis A. Christopher, 26, of Riverton, died at 5:30 pm, Monday, April 4, 2011. He was born March 19, 1985 in Springfield, IL to Alan L. and Sheila Blevins Christopher. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Sheila and Ed Chernis of Riverton; one sister, Salena Christopher of Riverton; one brother, A. Louis Christopher, II of Oceanside, CA; grandparents Charles and Darlene Blevins of Edinburg; aunts and uncles, Chuck (Debbie) Blevins, Mike (Chris) Blevins, Millie Ostermeier, Doug (Willie) Murphy, John (Tiny) Fiaoni, Don (Suzie) Christopher, Barry Christopher and Clarence (Grace) Christopher, Jr.; his father, Alan L. Christopher of Mattoon, a plethora of cousins and his pit bull, Lil’ Momma.
Travis loved being outdoors, fishing, four wheeling and golfing. He also enjoyed playing “Call of Duty” and getting money.
He worked in several restaurants in the Springfield area and had also worked in construction. He was a graduate of Riverton High School.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Friday, April 8, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home. Additional Visitation: 12-2 pm, Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home
Funeral Service: 2 pm, Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Gifford officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of your choice, Japan Tsunami Relief Fund or the Sangamon County Rescue Squad.
