Tonya M. Micheletta, 53, of Springfield, died at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at her home. She was born on September 17, 1961 in Springfield to James Joseph and Marilyn Kay Sullivan Micheletta, Sr. and they preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her step mother, Helen and one brother, James “Jim” Micheletta, Jr.
Surviving Tonya are her two sons, Richard and Kenneth (Jessica) Micheletta, both of Springfield; three grandchildren plus one on the way; one brother, Russell Micheletta of Springfield; Goddaughter, Tiffany Meacham; her best friend, Dawn Powell of Springfield and two nieces, Courtney (Kristen) Morgan of Nebraska and Crystal Micheletta of Springfield.
She was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan; enjoyed playing softball and basketball and will be inducted in the Springfield Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame in October of this year. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and loved her family and friends. Tonya worked as a Correctional Officer at the Sangamon County Jail.

Memorial Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2015 with Pastor Calvin Miller officiating.
