Timothy “Tim” W. Grubbs, 52, of Riverton, died at 10:53 am, Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born February 13, 1960 in Danville, Illinois to Wayne and Henrietta Bateman Grubbs.
Survivors include one daughter, Megan McKean of Riverton; one son, Austin T. Grubbs of Riverton; Mother, Henrietta Grubbs of Danville; one grandchild, Troy McKean; four sisters, Mary Jo (Art) Pepelea of Anderson IN, Jamie Tavine of Springfield, Kathy (Tony) Hanson of Danville and Nancy (Bob) Cowan of Springfield; one brother John (Colleen) Grubbs of Lyle and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
His father and one nephew, Seth Tavine, preceded him in death.
Tim was a member of West Side Christian Church and AFSCME. He worked out at the Fit Club and enjoyed shooting pool and fine cuisine. He was an avid Cardinal fan, enjoyed watching all sports and socializing with family and friends.
He worked for the State of Illinois Department of Central Management Services as a Agency Trainer, Deferred Comp Manager and Instructor.
Memorial Gathering: 10am – 12 pm, Friday, August 3, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home.
Memorial Service: 12 pm, Friday, August 3, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home with Gary Winkleman officiating. Private family entombment will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Robert Tish Cancer Center at Duke University at Raleigh Durham, NC.
