Timothy J. Davlin, Mayor of Springfield died Tuesday morning, December 14, 2010 at his residence. He was born August 27, 1957 in Springfield, Illinois to Robert E. and Norene O’Brien Davlin. He married Nancy L. Conway in 1977 and they had four children. He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother; four children, Tara L. Davlin of Springfield, Shalaigh M. Davlin (Christopher Koehl) of Hainesville, Illinois, Mallory C. Davlin (fiance Dylan Simonds) of Springfield, and Ryan (Jenna) Davlin of Springfield; four grandchildren, Connor Davlin, Cole Davlin, Chloe Davlin and Colin Koehl; three sisters, CarolAnn (Gerald) Walton, Kathleen Davlin and Maureen Davlin all of Springfield; 3 brothers, Michael (Carol) Davlin of Fraser, Colorado, Patrick (Rae Marie) Davlin and Kevin J. Davlin both of Springfield, several aunts and uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tim graduated from Blessed Sacrament Grade School and from Griffin High School in 1975. He received his Associate of Arts Degree from Springfield College in Illinois. He was a lifelong resident of Springfield and served as Mayor of Springfield from 2003 until present. Tim was an avid Cubs fan who also enjoyed walleye fishing in Canada. He will always be known for his sense of humor and his love of family.
