EDINBURG – Timothy F. Leahy, 84, of Edinburg died at 7:22 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born March 20, 1934, in Auburn, the son of Charles P. and Helen F. Jones Leahy.
He married Deborah Dugger on April 14, 1973.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ivan Leahy.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah K. Leahy of Edinburg; three children, George D. Leahy of Logansport, Ind., Penny I. (husband, Vernon) Hozey of Kokomo, Ind., and Patricia A. (husband, Jason M.) Szydlowski of Reedsburg, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Tara Leahy, Lydia, Natasha, Nathan and Isabella, all of Logansport, Vernon Hozey III of Fort Lewis, Wash., and Eric M. Szydlowski of Reedsburg; a great-grandchild, Hayden Leahy of Lafayette, Ind.; a sister, Mary Grace Holder of Logansport; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Timothy lived in Edinburg for 34 years. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Carberry officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted.
