SPRINGFIELD – Timothy E. Bonner, 64, of Springfield died at 9:03 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 26, 1944, in Springfield, the son of Charles W. and Irene H. Nemecek Bonner.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmother, Mary Nemecek.
He is survived by two brothers, Thomas E. (wife, Judy) Bonner of Springfield and Charles Chuck (wife, Judy Cervellone) Bonner of Sherman; an aunt, Kathleen Nemecek; a nephew, Thomas E. (wife, Deonna) Bonner II; and two great-nieces, Lauren and Sara.
He was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He was a security guard at Camp Lincoln, retiring in 2007. He was owner/operator of Tim’s Pump at First and Jefferson Streets from 1967 to 1972 and worked with his brother for 25 years at the Shamrock Tavern.
He attended St. Patrick’s Church. He enjoyed betting on the ponies at the OTB and listening to country music, target shooting and spending time with his cat, Slim. He graduated from Griffin High School and attended Springfield College.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. Christopher House officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Animal Protective League.
