Thomas “Lyman” Reynolds, 95, of Springfield, formerly of Pawnee, died at 2:10 pm, Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born September 9, 1921, in Rochester, to Alexander and Melvina Minerva Pope Reynolds. He married Magdalene Russell on September 28, 1939 and she preceded him in death on January 16, 1996.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda R. Clark of Springfield; one son, Jon (wife: Karen) Reynolds of Springfield; four grandchildren, Dawn (Craig) Mason of New Berlin, Jay (Nikki) Clark, Chris (April) Reynolds and Michelle (Michael) Eads, all of Springfield; eight great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; four brothers, Glen, Jess, Kenneth and Alex Reynolds and three sisters, Mary Nichols, Angeline “Nan” Ackerson and Rachel Edwards.
Lyman was a member of Calvary Church. He was a self-employed farmer all of his life in Sangamon and Christian Counties. He drove a school bus for forty eight years for the Pawnee School District #11.
Visitation: 4 – 7 pm, Friday, July 7, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with additional visitation from 10-11 am, Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Calvary Church, 1730 West Jefferson Street, Springfield.
Funeral Service: 11 am Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Calvary Church, 1730 West Jefferson Street, with Pastor Mark Johnson and Pastor Paul Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Pawnee, IL.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Land Honor Flight.
