SPRINGFIELD – Thomas L. O’Hagan, age 81, of Springfield, IL died at Memorial Medical Center at 1:39 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2010. He was born on March 29, 1928, in Baltimore, MD, to John and Mary Regina Mulgrew O’Hagan. He married Mary Elizabeth McIntosh; she preceded him in death in 2001.
Mr. O’Hagan was of the Catholic faith, a United States Air Force veteran serving during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force, Mr. O’Hagan was a popular Springfield resident for many years. Mr. O’Hagan owned and operated hotels and real estate throughout the Midwest.
Surviving are his 2 two sons, Michael O’Hagan and David (Glennesse) O’Hagan of West Palm Beach, FL; 3 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; a sister, M.E. Medved of Maryland; a brother, John O’Hagan of Maryland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a visitation from 5-7 p.m. Monday April, 5, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 5 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at Sacred Heart Church, with Rev. Peter Harman officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2010, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL, where military honors will be conducted.
