Thomas Chester Snow Sr., 82, of Springfield went to be with the Lord at 9:50 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at his home. Tom was born May 22, 1928, in Springfield, to the late Guy Albert and Bertha Alice Daggett Snow Sr.
He was preceded in death by a son, John; four brothers, Charles, Henry, Joseph, and Guy Snow; a sister, Edith Whittington; and two half-brothers, Carl and Ted Anderson.
Mr. Snow is survived by his wife of 61 years, Edna Joerger Snow; two daughters, Sherry Owens of Springfield and Deborah (Bart) Cantrall of Cantrall; two sons, Thomas (Belinda) Snow Jr. of Buckhart and Danny Snow of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tom was a member of Springfield Bible Church, the Pillsbury Retirees and the Grain Millers Union. He worked for Pillsbury Mills as a sweeper and retired after 44 years.
Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Standard officiating. Burial will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or the American Diabetes Association.
