Theresa F. Vespa, 85, of Naperville, IL, formerly of Springfield, died at 12:00 a.m. Sunday, December 11, 2011 at St. Patrick’s Residence in Naperville. She was born March 22, 1926 in Berkley, MI to Edward Joseph and Catherine Beaghan Clancy. She married Roger Vespa on September 17, 1960, and he preceded her in death on August 21, 2000.
She is survived by two daughters Sylvia (Grant) Leary of Naperville, and Arlene Vespa of Champaign, and one son Kenneth Vespa of Chicago, three granddaughters, Jessica Leary of New York City, Tricia and Sarah Leary of Naperville, one sister, Sr. Kathleen Clancy of Nebraska. She was a lifelong resident of Springfield until 2002 when she moved to Naperville. She had been a member of Blessed Sacrament Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Dorothy Clancy Chaffee, Christina Clancy Berneker, Helen Clancy Regan, her twin Sr. Thaddeus (Josephine) Clancy, Mercedes Clancy Foster, Loretta Clancy Schmidt, Joan Clancy Claussen, brothers, Charles and Jerry Clancy.
Services in Naperville: Visitation from 9 a.m. until time for Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2011 at St. Patrick’s Residence in Naperville.
Services in Springfield: Visitation from 12:30 until time of funeral services at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Grant officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, at family’s request, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Residence, 1400 Brookdale Road, Naperville, IL 60563.
