Theodore “Teddy” O. Watts, 66, of Springfield, died at 5:13 pm, Saturday, February 6, 2016 at St. John’s Hospice. He was born November 24, 1949 in Springfield, to Richard and Beulah M. (Tippett) Watts.
Survivors include one daughter, Dana (Watts) Shomidie (fiancé: Randy Davis) of Springfield; two grandchildren, Courtney Huston and Kaylee Shomidie; one aunt, Mary Watts of Clinton, AR; four nieces, Polly Antonacci, Pam Cheung, Trina Qureshi, Tanna Smith and several cousins. He was precede in death by his parents; one sister, Wanda Bramlet and one brother, Donald Watts.
Teddy was a union laborer for Local #477, retiring in 1999. He attended Rolling Prairie Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of Firefighters Postal Lake Club and was a member of the Springfield Crappie Club. He dedicated a great part of his life to helping others through AA. He loved playing pool, riding his Harley, fishing and spending time with his family.
Memorial Gathering: The family will host a memorial gathering from 4-7 pm, Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Elliott Avenue Baptist Church.
Memorial Service: The family will host a memorial service at 10 am, Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Elliott Avenue Baptist Church, with Reverend Dr. Mark Estrop officiating.
