Terrance S. Turrentine, 69, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born December 11, 1952, in Springfield, the son of Charles S. and Dorothy (Locker) Turrentine. He married Deborah Melton on February 27, 1973 and she survives.
Also surviving are his three children, Patricia (Richard Staley) Turrentine of Springfield, Matthew (Tabetha Hebenstreit) Turrentine of Taylorville and Thomas Turrentine of Chicago; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and father, Charles of Newark, CA.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy, two brothers and one sister.
Terrance belonged to NRA. He had an appreciation for music, records, and movies. He was a police officer for two years at the Virden Police Department, and 17 years for the Springfield Park District. Terrance was a United States Army veteran.
Memorial Gathering: 2 – 5 pm, Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Graveside Service: 2 pm, Monday, January 24, 2022 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Sangamon County Inter-Veterans Burial Detail.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
