Suzanne Rae Skeeters
SPRINGFIELD – Suzanne Rae Skeeters, 54, of Springfield, died Sunday, September 2, 2007 at her residence.
She was born February 23, 1953 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Donald and Phyllis Crump Wilson. She married Norman Skeeters on December 24, 1971. Her grandfather and father preceded her in death.
Mrs. Skeeters was a homemaker and worked for six years for Springfield School District 186 as a Handicap Aid for Butler Elementary and Southeast High School. She was a member of 1st United Methodist Church. She loved baking, won over 200 ribbons at the Illinois State Fair, was a wedding cake maker for over 21 years, and learned to make candy from her father. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
Survivors: husband, Norman Skeeters of Springfield; two daughters, Janelle (husband, Jason) Dee and Sara Skeeters, both of Springfield; one son, Donald (fiancŽ, Angie) Skeeters of Springfield; two grandchildren, Taylor Dee and Savannah Skeeters of Springfield; mother, Phyllis Wilson of Springfield; two brothers, Kent (wife, Terri) Wilson of Upland, Ca and Phillip (wife, Wendy) Wilson of Springfield; one uncle; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the ALS Foundation.
Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2007. Services: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 6, 2007, Reverend Vince Rohn officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery. Staab Funeral Home of Service.
