Shirley Jean McGrew
SPRINGFIELD – Shirley Jean McGrew, 72, of Springfield, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born June 15, 1935 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth Leach Ryner. She married Carroll “Ray” McGrew on March 29, 1952. Her parents preceded her in death.
Mrs. McGrew worked for CutlerHammer for nine years, leaving in 1968. She then was a homemaker. She was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors: husband, Carroll “Ray” McGrew of Springfield; two daughters, Jan Cleaver and Pam (husband, Larry) Kaiser, both of Springfield; five grandchildren, Jim (wife, Julia) Cleaver, Jr., Jason Cleaver, Lindsay Kaiser, Jessica (husband, Jack) Berry, and Laurel Kaiser; one sister, Bev (husband, Jim) Cummings of Jerseyville; one brother, Larry (wife, Liz) Ryner of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, July 2, 2007. Services: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2007, Dr. Robert Fulkerson officiating. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery. Staab Funeral Home of Service.
