SPRINGFIELD – Shirley J. Johnson, 73, of Springfield died at 8:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 27, 1936, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Jack and Evelyn Caulkins Grogan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Lloyd Washburn; a grandchild Kelsie Suzanne Wanless; an infant brother; and a sister, Jacque Schnoes.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen S. (Rick) Wanless of Springfield; two grandchildren, Ashley and Ericka Wanless; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Shirley was a resident of Springfield since 1963. She was a homemaker and worked as a switchboard operator for Doctor’s Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Radtke officiating.
Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
