Sharon Kay Miller, age 60 of Sherman, IL, died in San Diego, CA, on Sunday, July 5, 2009. She was born on June 5, 1949 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Thomas E. and Arlene Caldwell Archer. She married Gary R. Miller in 1974. She was a resident of the Williamsville/Sherman area all of her life and was an elementary school teacher for the Williamsville School District.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Surviving are her husband, Gary R. Miller; 2 daughters, Alison Kay (husband, Dan) McNamara of Bolingbrook, IL, and Melissa Ann Miller of Neenah, WI; a granddaughter, Katelyn Amber McNamara; mother, Arlene Archer of Springfield; a brother, Ron T. (wife, Debi) Archer of Louisville, KY; 2 aunts and 2 uncles, George and Virginia Archer of Jacksonville and Margaret and Jarrie Turner of Rochester; a great uncle, L.C. Caldwell of Taylorville and 17 nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Sherman United Methodist Church, Illinois Education Association and the Eastern Illinois University Alumni Association; she was also a volunteer for Relay for Life. Sharon was an organ donor.
A visitation will be held from 1-5 pm, Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home with a service concluding the visitation at 5pm with Reverend Dick Piscatelli officiating.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 7:00pm, Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Williamsville High School.
A private chapel service will be held at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.
