Scott Carlton McCloughan, 76, of Springfield, died at Liberty Village in LaSalle-Peru, IL on Saturday, October 22, 2016. He was born March 2, 1940 in Riverton, IL to Lloyd L. and Virginia McCloughan. He married Carolyn Thiel and she survives.
Also surviving are his four children: Angela (Roger) Moore, Deanne (Jerry) Teague, Kay West, and Gregory McCloughan; two stepchildren: Gary (Amy) Kiphart and Rodney Kiphart; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Moore, Bridgette Souther, Barbara Wilson, Daniela Moore, Chrystal Howell, Zackary Howell, and Evan Kiphart, and ten great-grandchildren. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert L. McCloughan and his two 4-legged friends, Chang and Colby.
Scott was of the Lutheran Faith. He was dedicated to his genealogy and family heritage. He enjoyed building furniture and loved trains. He had a laid back personality and everyone loved him. He worked at DeKalb hatchery for 40 years and owned Kountry Korner in Springfield.
