SPRINGFIELD – Sandra J. Johnson of Springfield died Saturday, June 19, 2010, at St. John’s Hospice. She was born March 3, 1951, in Jacksonville, Illinois to Richard C. and Edith Carter Johnson.
Sandra was a member of Luther Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was an avid shopper and enjoyed jewelry, Asian art and traveling. She was a resident of Springfield since 1973 and was a certified property causality underwriter for over 30 years at Horace Mann.
Survivors include her mother, Edith Johnson of Springfield; 1 sister, Cheryl Schnirring of Springfield; 1 brother, Richard R. Johnson of Oklahoma City, OK; 2 uncles, Howard Carter of Roodhouse, IL and Earl (Winnie) Carter of Franklin, Illinois; and numerous cousins.
Memorial gathering will be from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at Luther Memorial Evangelical Lutheran Church, with a memorial service at 12 noon, Pastor Bill Zanton officiating. Private burial will be held at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville, Illinois.
