Samuel E. Loyd, 54, of Springfield, died at 2:32 am, Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born February 24, 1959 in Springfield, to Donald and Margaret Ferguson Loyd and they survive.
Also surviving are his companion, Linda Waldrop of Springfield; one daughter, Tamara Waldrop of Springfield; two grandchildren, Robert and Nichole; seven brothers and sisters, David (Linda) Loyd of Mt. Auburn, Linda (John) Morris of Georgetown, Debra (Michael) Box, Anita (Wayne) Marquis, Danny (Kim) Loyd, Carolyn (Dave) Messmore and Marilyn (Dave) McCubbin all of Springfield and Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and cousins.
Samuel had been a resident of Springfield all of his life. He served in the United States Army. Samuel was a school bus driver for Laidlaw since 1995. He liked to fish and play pool.
Visitation: 10 am – 12 pm, Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 12 pm, Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Carver officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail.
