Rose Eileen (Lawless) Brazitis, 92, of Springfield, died at 1:35 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Villa Health Care East in Sherman. She was born March 19, 1919 in Springfield, IL to John M. and Rose Ellen (McGarrity) Lawless. She married Walter E. Brazitis in 1943 who was Lt. Colonel U.S Army, a WWII Veteran, and a Purple Heart recipient.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, a choir member, and a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers John T. and Thomas W. Lawless, one sister Mary (Lawless) Huber, and one nephew Kevin L. Lawless.
She is survived by two nieces, Sharon M. Smith of Jonesboro, AR and Sue Ellen Downing of Palm Bay, FL, and one nephew John E. Lawless of Crossville, TN.
Visitation: 10-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament Church.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Reverend Jeff Grant officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.

I remember her around Blessed Sacrament with appreciation for she took the time to sing in the choir especially for funerals helping the rest of us sing in our hearts who didn't have the gift of voice at liturgy as she did. Thank You Mrs. Brazitis.
