Rosalie (Perce) Grigsby, 84 of Springfield died on December 27, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on March 8, 1926 in Jacksonville, IL to Lawrence J. and Elsie A. Petty Hale. She married William Donald Perce and he preceded her in death. She married Samuel R. Grigsby and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Phillip and Raymond Hale and 3 sisters; Sharon White, Lucille Jeeninga and Helen Michiletti.
She is survived by a daughter Peggy (Tom) Williamson of Pleasant Plains, IL and a son; Jack L. (Karen) Perce of Lake Mary, FL, 3 step sons; Glenn, Kenny and Samuel Lee Grigsby, 4 grandchildren; Dawn M. and Derek Williamson and Chad A. and Shawn Perce, a step grandson, Charles Grigsby, 6 great grandchildren, 6 sisters; Barbara Wise of Springfield, Virginia Richards of North Carolina, Marilyn Kyle of Cantrall, Lorraine Sampson of Springfield, Doris Chandler of Springfield and Betty Ann Montgomery of Springfield, a brother; Eugene Hale of Dawson, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a member of Rock Creek Presbyterian Church in Tallula. Rosalie retired in 1983 as a LPN at Memorial Medical Center and was also a retired hairdresser.
Visitation: 3-5p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home.
Graveside Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Irish Grove Cemetery in Middletown, IL with Reverend David Daniel officiating.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
