Ronald L. Williams, Sr., 64, of Springfield died at 5:01 a.m., Thursday, December 1, 2011 at his home.
He was born July 14, 1947 in Divernon, IL to Herman and Leona Bounds Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald L. (Jenna) Williams, Jr. and Aaron T. Williams, both of Springfield; one granddaughter, Alaina Williams, companion, Barbara Bauer of Springfield, two sisters, Marie Howarth of Springfield and Norma Jean Gates of Taylorville, one brother, Herman (Dorothy) Williams of Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ronald was a United States Army Veteran and past Post Commander of VFW Post #10302, member of VVA Chapter #534, member of DAV Hall Hagler Chapter and American Legion Post #32. He was a superintendant of construction at Fiat Allis.
He was an avid Harley rider and loved to deer hunt and camp with family and friends.
Visitation: 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail.
