Ronald L. Lutes, 74, of Buffalo, died at 1:31 pm, Saturday, June 21, 2014 at his home. He was born January 13, 1940 in Springfield, the son of Glenn and Maxine Blessman-Lutes. He married Edna Mae “Skip” Fetter on July 19, 1963 and she preceded him in death on November 19, 2010.
His parents and step-daughter, Michelle Ritza, also preceded him in death.
Surviving are one step-daughter Melinda (Larry) Hamlin of Buffalo; step-son Chad Bates of Sherman; one daughter Glenda K. Lutes of Phoenix, AZ; one son Michael (Suzette) Lutes of Middleville, MI; 11 grandchildren; two brothers Kenneth (June) Lutes of Lee City, TX and Terry (Donna) Lutes of Springfield; several nieces, nephews and counsins and his special friend, Dee Byers of Buffalo.
Ronald was a resident of Riverton for most of his life and was self employed as a hairdresser for 51 years. He served in the Illinois National Guard during the Korean Era. He was a member of the National and State Cosmetologists Association and was a Past President of Springfield Cosmetologists. Ronald enjoyed fishing at his cabin in Saidora.
Visitation: 5-7 pm, Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10 am, Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Staab Funeral Home with Jim Price officiating. Burial will follow in Wolf Creek Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Riverton Fire Department.
