Ronald L. Hergenrother

Ronald L. Hergenrother, Sr., 72, of Pleasant Plains, IL died at 6:55 p.m., Friday, April 6, 2012 at Sunrise Manor in Virden. He was born April 15, 1939 in Petersburg, IL to Leo Theodore and Elizabeth McDowell Hergenrother. He married Janet L. Buker Hergenrother on September 26, 1959. His parents and one infant brother preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Janet; one daughter Marci (Kenny) Ladd of Lawton, OK; four sons Ron L. (Theresa) Hergenrother, Jr. of Springfield; Rob (Jadeen) Hergenrother of Pataskall, OH; Mark (Liane) Hergenrother of Pleasant Plains; Jay (Andrea) Hergenrother of Pleasant Plains; nine grand children; two aunts.
He was a member of West Side Christian Church. Ronald was a Air Force Veteran and he served during the Cuban missile crisis. He was a 3rd generation automotive/farm equipment mechanic and also worked at Prairie International and Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Ronald was a former member of Pleasant Plains Jaycees, and formerly served on the Pleasant Plains Volunteer Fire Department. He loved woodworking, attending craft shows and camping. Ronald enjoyed attending his family’s various activities.
Visitation: 4-7 pm, Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home
Funeral Service: 11 am, Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
