Roman P. Dorr, Jr., 88, of Springfield, died at 12:06 pm, Monday, November 1, 2021 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born June 3, 1933 in Springfield to Roman P. and Meta (Horin) Dorr, Sr. He married Shirley Ann Dunham June 26, 1954.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann; three children, Carrie Elliott of Springfield, Joseph (Amy) Dorr of Carmel, IN and Jeffery (Debbie Drennan) Dorr of Vero Beach, FL; six grandchildren, Dennis Jr. and Kelsey Power, Matthew and Lindsay Lippa, Keegan and Finley Dorr; two great grandchildren, Kaelyn and Leha; one brother, Ralph (Ann) Dorr of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Roman P. Dorr III and Michelle “Mimi” Power and two sisters, Roma Long and Betty Lowery.

He was the co-owner and president of Frye Williamson Press, Inc. until his full retirement in 1998. He served in the United States Navy from 1953-1957. Roman was a member of Christ the King Church. He was a avid reader and sports fan. He especially liked NASCAR and vacationing in Florida.

Memorial Gathering: 10-11 am, Friday, November 5, 2021 at Christ the King.

Memorial Mass: 11:00 am Friday, November 5, 2021 at Christ the King with Reverend Clinton Honkomp officiating. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
