Roger William Meiseman, 81, of Springfield, passed away at 5:14 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born January 7, 1931 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Reinhold and Dora (Meyer) Meiseman.
He married Julia Ferguson on Jan. 28, 1952 in Tulsa, OK. She preceded him in death on Mother’s Day, May 14, 1995.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Johnny Meiseman; a sister, Mildred Meiseman and a brother, Arthur Meiseman.
He is survived by three children, Linda (Mark) Woollen of Springfield, Rick Meiseman of Springfield and James (Sharon) Meiseman of McKinney, TX; one brother, Don Meiseman of New Jersey; a sister, Alice Bums of St. Louis, MO; seven Grandchildren, Eric Woollen, Shane Woollen, Chase (Stephanie) Woollen, Shawn (Jonathan) Langley, Luke (Donna) Meiseman, Joshua Meiseman and Christy Killebrew; five Great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Roger was a T. V. repairman for 30 years with Springfield TV Service Co. Inc.
and was a proud member of the Springfield Deaf Club and West Side Christian Church. Roger loved to build model ships since he was young, he loved going fishing and was a
die hard Cardinals fan, spending many hours after retirement watching every game he could.
Visitation: 10 am – 12 noon, Friday, December 21, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 12 noon, Friday, December 21, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home with Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
