Roger P. Oldfield, 75, of Springfield, died at 1:56 a.m., on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at St. John’s Hospital. He was born on August 30, 1938 in Cape Girardeau, MO to Kenneth and Margurite Dumm Oldfield.
Survivors include a daughter, Laurie A. Anderson of Middletown, Delaware; five sons, Steve (Amy) Oldfield, Ken P. (Michele) Oldfield and Mike W. Oldfield all of Rochester, John D. (Crystal) Oldfield of Petersburg and Jeff DeKoker of Springfield; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Lynn; a brother, Stephen and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his ex wife and life long friend, Sharon Oldfield of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and loving family friend and mother to Jeff, MaryLou DeKoker.
Roger really loved family gatherings and spending time with the kids and his close friends; he was an outstanding athlete his entire life and loved being outdoors. He was a lifelong resident of Springfield after college. He served in the National Guard and enjoyed his career in sales of automobiles and homes.
Visitation: 4:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, October 18, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Staab Funeral Home with Monsignor John Ossola officiating.
Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.
