Rodney Norman Murduck, of Rochester, IL, passed away November 3, 2017, at St. John’s Hospice. He was born January 24, 1935 in Urbana, IL. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and a son, Jeffery Murduck of Springfield.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Peggy Ann Krutsinger and daughters Susan (Tony) Fritcher of Springfield and Stephanie (Paul) Lake of Rochester; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Rodney attended the U of I prior to joining the Navy in 1953. He was a supervising Engineer for Illinois Bell and retired in 1990. He formerly was a member at Lakeside Christian Church where he served as a deacon, Bible School Teacher and Boy Scout Leader. He had also been a member at West Side Christian Church before moving to Florida. He moved to Rochester in 2017. He was gentle, kind, caring, a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Cremation was accorded by Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.
A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date.
