Robert H. Darovec, 96 of Rochester, formerly of Springfield, died Monday, December 5, 2016. He was born October 23, 1920 the son of Louis and Mary Kuznik Darovec. He married Betty M. Blucke on November 22, 1947 and she survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Leonard and Louis.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, three daughters, Mary (Richard) Robinson of Plano, TX, Anne Sablotny of Edinburg and Joan Steele of Murphysboro; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and five nieces.
Robert was a seventy year member of Sacred Heart Church. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was the last charter member of the Blue Ridge Club and the last president of the Feitshans High School Parent Teacher Association. Robert was a seventy year member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and also seventy year member of the American Legion Post 32.
Graveside Service: 1 pm, Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where Reverend Brian Alford will officiate and military honors will be conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
