Robert F. McAfee, 94 of Springfield, died at 3:16 pm, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Memorial Hospice at Heritage. He was born August 1, 1923 in Lincoln, to Edgar and Alta Smith McAfee. He married Norma L. Morgan on April 21, 1962 and she survives.
Also surviving are one nice Sharon Newby of FL.
His parents; one sister, Pauline Barry Skinner and one nephew James R. Barry preceded him in death.
Robert was a US Navy veteran serving during WWII. He owned and operated McAfee Electric in Lincoln.
He was a member of West Side Christian Church; Electricians Local Union #193 for seventy years; Masonic Lodge #210 and Shriner’s for fifty years and was an Eastern Star member for forty years.
He enjoyed traveling and fishing.
Visitation: 4-6 pm, Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Masonic and Eastern Star services being held at 4 pm.
Graveside Service: 10 am, Monday, March 19, 2018, at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where Sangamon County Inter Veterans will conduct military honors.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shriner Children’s Hospital.
